Erythropoicila Fischel, 1927: 72 , type species E. plana Fischel, 1927 . Raven 1985: 152. First synonymized by Raven (1985: 152).
Diagnosis: The male can be distinguished from all other theraphosids, except some Hapalopus species, by the presence of a paraembolic apophysis on male palpal bulb ( Figs 1– 22 View FIGURES 1 – 10 View FIGURES 11 – 20 View FIGURES 21 – 23. C ). Male Cyriocosmus can be distinguished from Hapalopus by the divergent branches on the tibial apophysis ( Figs 23–33 View FIGURES 21 – 23. C View FIGURES 24 – 33 ). The female can be distinguished from all other theraphosid species by having a sinuous or spiral spermathecae neck with a convex base ( Figs 34–39 View FIGURES 34 – 39 ).
