Etymology: The specific name is a patronym in honor of Fernando PérezMiles, an important Uruguayan mygalomorph researcher who has contributed to the knowledge of theraphosid taxonomy.
Diagnosis: The female can be distinguished from all species in the genus, except C. fasciatus and C. elegans , by having four clear stripes on each side of the dorsal abdomen ( Fig. 46 View FIGURES 45 – 50 ). Differs from C. fasciatus by having the clear central patch covering less than 80% of the dorsal abdomen and from C. elegans by the central patch shape. The male can be distinguished from C. fasciatus , C. ritae , C. blenginii and C. sellatus by not having a retrolateral field of spiniform hairs on the palpal tibia. It differs from C. chicoi and C. nogueiranetoi new species by having a crested prolateral superior keel ( Figs 13, 14 View FIGURES 11 – 20 ) and by the presence of white stripes on legs. It differs from other species by having a long paraembolic apophysis.
Female ( IBSP 10967): Total length, not including chelicerae or spinnerets, 16.50. Cephalothorax length 5.25, width 5.83. Anterior eye row slightly procurved, posterior row recurved. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.18, ALE 0.33, PME 0.2, PLE 0.02; AME AME 0.20, AMEALE 0.15, PMEPME 0.55, PMEPLE 0.03, ALEPLE 0.13 AMEPME 0.10, ALEALE 0.83, PLEPLE 0.88. Eye tubercle length 1.28, width 0.72; clypeus absent. Fovea straight, short and shallow. Labium length 1.18, width 0.90, with 47 cuspules, maxillae with approximately 100 cuspules on the inner corner. Sternum length 2.61, width 2.55. Sigilla: second pair more than one diameter from margin, third pair less than one diameter from margin and fourth pair one diameter from margin. Chelicerae with 8 teeth on promargin. Tarsi I–IV densely scopulate, scopulae of tarsi I–II divided by narrow band of setae, III–IV widely divided by setae. Metatarsi I–II densely scopulate along 1/3 of length, III scopulate on distal half and IV scopulate 1/4 distally. Length of legs and palpal segments in Table. 4. Spination: femurs I–IV and palp 0; patellae I–IV and palp 0; tibiae I 0, II 0, III v 002 (apical), p 010 and r 010; IV v 012 (apicals), and palp v 003 (apicals); metatarsi I v 001 (apical); II v 1 01 (apical); III v 11 3 (apicals), p 101; IV v 023 (apicals), p 001. Coxae I–IV without stridulatory hairs. Spermathecae with convex base narrowing abruptly into a spiral neck terminating in a caliciform seminal receptacle. Posterior lateral spinnerets with three articles, basal longer than median, both shorter than apical; lateral median spinnerets with one article. Urticating type III hair, with short barbs, on the central dorsum of the abdomen. Cephalothorax reddish brown with the cephalic region totally dark ( Fig. 46 View FIGURES 45 – 50 ); chelicerae grayish brown; labium and sternum light reddish brown; coxae and trochanters reddish brown; femurs black; patella, tibia, metatarsi and tarsi grayish brown; abdomen with four pairs of clear stripes with a central clear patch covering half of dorsal abdominal area; spinnerets grayish brown.
