Taraxacum silvicola van Soest (1959: 116) View in CoL
Type:— L 2681 !, holotype (herb. van Soest 19164)
Doll (1978: 643):—Listed from Bulgaria without locality specification.
Herbarium voucher specimens:—There are two gathering under the name of T. silvicola , one labelled Flora von Bulgarien, Rila-Gebirge, Jastrebez, 13 Jul [19]76, R. Doll [as Taraxacum silvicolum ] ( JE, no. det. 19046); the other gathering bears the following label: Flora von Bulgarien, Rila-Gebirge, Musalla-Hütte, 12 Jul [19]76, R. Doll [as Taraxacum silvicolum ] ( JE, no. det. 19047). The former contains four plants, probably homogeneous taxonomically. The latter was divided to two herbarium sheets, with eight, doubtfully homogeneous plants in total.
Interpretation:—Those plants of both gatherings that appear to be relatively well preserved belong to T. vile , a species described below. Taraxacum silvicola differs from T. vile in a number of characters, most conspicuously in having purple petioles.
