Grammitis bryophila (Maxon) F.Seym., Phytologia 31: 172. 1975.

= Polypodium bryophilum Maxon, Amer. Fern J. 16(1): 7. 1926.

Range: — Costa Rica and Panama; Colombia and Venezuela south along Andes to Bolivia (CO, LP).

Ecology: —Uncommon, known from six Bolivian collections; epiphytic and rarely epipetric (among mosses) in humid forests; 1500–3150 m.

Notes: —Intermediate specimens are known between this species and G. limbata ; it is uncertain if these imply that both taxa should be united as a single species, if they are hybrids, or if a third species is involved.

Grammitis fluminensis Fée , from montane forests in Jamaica, Venezuela, Colombia, and southeastern Brazil, may occur in Bolivia. It differs from G. bryophila by its broader blades> 8 mm wide and broader (> 0.5 mm vs. <0.5 mm), pale brown (vs. dark brown) rachises.
