Range: —Hispaniola; southern Mexico to Panama; Colombia to Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, and Bolivia (LP); southeastern Brazil.
Ecology: —Rare, known from four Bolivian collections; epiphytic in humid montane forests; 700–3100 m.
Notes: —May be confused with species of Melpomene , which have entire, more strongly clathrate rhizome scales and often bear dark reddish brown setae on the blades.
