status

Lellingeria jimenezii Labiak, Fl. Neotrop. Monogr. View in CoL 111: 53. 2013.

Range: —Endemic to Bolivia (LP).

Ecology: —Rare, known from four collections; epiphytic in montane rain forests; 800–1950 m.

Notes: —Similar to Lellingeria oreophila (Maxon) A.R.Sm. & R.C.Moran , endemic to Colombia. Lellingeria jimenezii differs from that by its smaller, reddish brown, lanceolate rhizome scales 1–2 mm long (vs. 4–6 mm), subcoriaceous blades, dark sclerenchyma visible on the rachises abaxially, 8–12 pairs of sori per segment (vs. 6–8 pairs), and sori not restricted to the distal portion of the segments ( Labiak 2013). It also has dorsiventral, short-creeping rhizomes; many species of Lellingeria have suberect to erect, radially symmetric rhizomes.
