Calochromus kelantanensis sp. nov.

Type material. Holotype, male, Malaysia, W. Kelantan, 30 km NW of Gua Musang, Ulu Lalat Mt., Kampong Sungai Om, 800–1000 m, 21. Jun–14. Jul 2010, P. Čechovský lgt. ( LMBC).

Diagnosis. Calochromus kelantanensis sp. nov. differs from C. impressicornis in longer antennal lamellae and black tips of the elytra ( Figs 2–3 View FIGURES 1 – 11 ).

Description. Male. Body medium sized, slender, 4.4 times longer than width at humeri; head, antennae and thorax black, scutellum dark brown, pronotum and elytra red, apical half of elytra black ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 11 ). Head hypognathous, with rostrum, including eyes wider than anterior margin of pronotum, front convex with narrow longitudinal groove, covered with fine pubescence, antennal pits contiguous. Eyes large, their frontal distance 1.56 times eye diameter ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 11 ). Pronotum 1.4 times wider posteriorly than length at midline, median longitudinal line widest at middle. Scutellum shallowly incised apically. Elytra 3.6 times longer than width at humeri, each with 4 costae ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 11 ). Male genitalia with slender phallus, parameres parallel-sided ( Fig.14 View FIGURES 12 – 15 ).

Measurements. BL 13.4 mm, WH 3 mm, PL 2 mm, PW 2.5 mm, Edist 0.825 mm, Ediam 0.5 mm.

Distribution. Peninsular Malaysia: Kelantan.

Etymology. The specific name refers to the Malay state Kelantan, the type locality of this species.
