Type species: Waidelotus hoffeinsorum sp. nov., by present designation

Etymology. The name of the new genus is a latinized word (stem “waidelot” + Latin suffix “-us”) derived from Waidelotte (or Weideler, Waidalis), meaning “priest of medium-level in ancient pagan Prussian religion”. The gender is masculine.

Remarks. The new genus is monotypic, represented by the type species only. Therefore the generic description considerably overlaps that of the species.
