2 ST: 1 ɗ & 1 Ψ [ BRAZIL], Theresopolis. There are 15 additional syntypes (6 ɗ, 1 ɗ juv., 5 Ψ & 3 Ψ juv.) in NHMW (4 ɗ, 1 ɗ juv., 2 Ψ & 1 Ψ juv.) and ZMUH (2 ɗ, 3 Ψ & 2 Ψ juv). Not traced in ZMHB. = Canuleius inermis Redtenbacher, 1906 ( Heteronemiidae : Heteronemiinae : Pygirhynchini )

* inquinatus Redtenbacher, 1908: 498 ( Asceles )

8 probable PLT: 8 Ψ [ MALAYSIA] ‘Borneo’, Kina­Balu, ex. Heyne coll. [one clearly belongs to a different species]. The Ψ lectotype is in NHMW. There are 6 additional paralectotypes (4 ɗ & 2 Ψ) in NHMW. Also a probable syntype (1 ɗ) in MNHN.

= Junior subjective synonym of Asceles larunda (Westwood, 1859) ( Diapheromeridae : Necrosciinae)
