Habitat. All material was collected by spraying the bark of trees.
Comments. This material is very close to V. stilivarians but differs slightly in the larger size, possibly in the shape of the narrow triangular scales on the femora and the chaetotaxy of the legs. It also may have a wider apical article to the labial palp (L/ W 0.89 range 0.68–1.00 versus L/ W 1.16). Several wide-ribbed scales have been observed on the nota ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 16–20 ). The triangular scales of the femora ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 21–26 ) are quite different from those of Visma xanthorrhoea n. sp. ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 21–26 ) as the apical corners either side of the notch are usually quite rounded not acute, those on the femora of PIII are generally much narrower than those on PI. Scales on the tibia ( Fig. 32 View FIGURES 27–32 ) also approach lanceolate in shape, but still have the apical notch; they may be narrower than those on Visma xanthorrhoea n. sp. There appear to be fewer scales on the clypeus; the insertions medially where scales are common on other Visma species all appear to be occupied by setae. Only one lanceolate or possibly very narrow apically tapered triangular scale was seen on the clypeus of three of the seven dissected specimens examined. The South Australian material probably represents a different species; however, given the inadequate material available for V. stilivarians and the absence of molecular data, we have decided to wait until more material of V. stilivarians can be obtained before making this decision.
