Sinocosmetura sanjiangkouensis Guo, Shi & Chang View in CoL sp. nov.
Fig. 1 A–I View FIGURE 1
Description. Male. Body small and stout. Head short and stout. Fastigium verticis conical, apex rounded, protruding forward, furrowed in the midline. Eyes globular, protruding laterally. Apical segment of maxillary palpus equated in length with subapical segment, apex truncate and slightly swollen.
Pronotum short, posterior margin reaching the middle of second abdominal tergite, anterior margin straight, posterior margin obtusely rounded, transversal sulci indistinct, metazona slightly raised, posterior area of lateral lobe narrowing, without humeral sinus.
Tegmina brachypterous, concealed beneath pronotum or slightly surpassing posterior margin of pronotum; hind wings absent.
All femora without spines on ventral surfaces. Procoxa with a small spine, protibia with 4 short spines on outer side and 5 short spines on inner side of ventral surface; tibial tympana long oval, open on both sides. Mesotibia with 4 or 5 short spines on outer side and 3 or 4 spines on inner side of ventral surface. Posttibia with 15–17 short spines on outer side and 14–18 short spines on inner side of dorsal surface, a pair of dorsal apical spurs and two pairs of ventral apical spurs.
Ninth abdominal tergite slightly expanded backwards; postero-lateral area elongated backwards, subsequently incurved distinctly, fused and curved upwards, expanded into a rhombic structure with small teeth on the edges and downcurved. Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite with triangular concavity, a down-curved process on both sides of the concavity. Epiproct fused with tenth abdominal tergite. Cercus cylindrical, hirsute, apex slightly incurved, sub-apical area with a triangular inner lobe. Genitalia sclerotized, basal area broad, apical part slender, down-curved and fork-shaped. Subgenital plate near quadrilateral, length greater than width, basal part broad and widely concave, posterior margin with a U-shaped concavity, styli small, papillary.
Female. Pronotum shorter than that of male, posterior area of lateral lobe narrowing, without humeral sinus. Ninth abdominal tergite normal. Ovipositor moderately curved upwards, dorsal margin comparatively smooth and ventral margin with thin teeth. Subgenital basal part relatively broad and distinctly concave, posterior margin with semicircular concavity.
Coloration. Body green when alive. Eyes dark brown. Disc of pronotum with a longitudinal broad brown stripe, outer margin with a narrow longitudinal yellow stripe separately. Dorsal surface of abdomen with a longitudinal brown stripe, reaching posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite. All tibial spines and spurs with apices brown.
Measurements (mm). Body: ♂ 8.2–8.9, ♀ 9.3–9.9; pronotum: ♂ 3.5–3.7, ♀ 2.8–3.1; postfemora: ♂ 6.6–7.1, ♀ 7.5–8.0; ovipositor: 4.5–5.5.
Etymology. The name of the new species is derived from its type locality (Sanjiangkou, Daguan, Yunnan, China).
Material examined. Holotype: ♂, Sanjiangkou , Daguan, Yunnan, China, 17 Aug. 2020, collected by Tao Wang and Qi Guo. Paratypes: 3♂ 5♀, the other data as holotype ; 1♂, Yiliang , Yunnan, China, 14 Aug. 2020, collected by Tao Wang and Qi Guo ; 1♂ 7♀, Mugan , Daguan, Yunnan, China, 27 Aug. 2012, collected by Xun Bian & Guanglin Xie ; 1♂, Xisha , Yongshan, Yunnan, China, 19 July. 2006, collected by Xiao Guo.
Discussion. This new species is very similar in size and appearance to Doicholobosa complanatis Bian, Zhu & Shi, 2017 , it differs from the latter in the postero-lateral area of male ninth abdominal tergite elongated backwards, subsequently incurved distinctly, fused and curved upwards, then expanded into a rhombic structure with small teeth on the edges, while the subgenital plate with styli.
Distribution. China (Yunnan: Daguan).
