Harrison (slide 7775, SMF); one male, one female, Great Berg River , leg. Harrison, 24 May 1953 (slide 7785, SMF) . South Africa, Kwazulu- Natal Province: two females, Mahai River, Drakensbergen, Royal Natal National Park , alt. 1423 m a.s.l., 28 ° 41.479 9 S, 28 ° 56.711 9 E, 20 November 2004 .
Remarks
Hygrobates elgonensis and its subspecies have characteristically sculptured coxal plates. The two subspecies, H. e. kilimandjaricus Lundblad and H. e. capensis have P-II with a ventral extension. Moreover, females of the two subspecies have a more elongated genital field, while the genital field of the nominate form is more triangular.
