Homoneura (Neohomoneura) pufujii View in CoL sp. nov.

( Figs. 31 View FIGURES 19 – 33 , 65–69 View FIGURES 65 – 69 )

Diagnosis. Wing with brown apical spots of R2+3 and R4+5 with basal extremities at same vertical level of dm-cu, basal extremity of brown apical spot on R4+5 slightly beyond vertical level of spot on R2+3; a triangular hyaline marginal area present between brown spots on R2+3 and R4+5. Abdomen yellow, male tergites 2–6 each with a narrow black posterior margin (black posterior margin slightly broad in female) and male tergites 5–6 (female 4–6) each with a black triangular median spot confluent with black posterior margin.

Description. MALE. Body length 6.0– 6.3 mm, wing length 5.6–6.0 mm. FEMALE. Body length 6.0 mm, wing length 5.6 mm.

Head yellow. Frons brownish yellow, as long as wide and parallel–sided; ocellar triangle pale brown; oc developed, as long as anterior or. Gena about 1/4 height of eye. Antenna yellow, and 1st flagellomere about 1.4 times as long as high; arista black plumose except pale yellow base, with longest setula slightly shorter than height of 1st flagellomere. Proboscis yellow, with yellowish and blackish setulae; palpus yellow, with blackish setulae.

Thorax brownish yellow. Mesonotum with 0+3 dc, acr in 10 rows and prsc longer than anteriormost dc. 1 anepst, 2 kepst. Scutellum yellow. Legs mostly yellow except tarsi pale brown to brown. Fore femur with 5 strong pv and 8 pd, and ctenidium with 14–15 short setae; fore tibia with 1 strong preapical ad and 1 short apv. Mid femur with 5 a and 1 app; mid tibia with 1 strong preapical ad, 6–7 short p and 3 strong apv. Hind femur with a row of weak av (only 3 apical setae distinct) and 1 preapical ad; hind tibia with 1 preapical ad and 1 short apv. Wing ( Fig. 31 View FIGURES 19 – 33 ) slightly yellow, brown apical spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1 confluent, extending to tip of vein; apical spots on R2+3 and R4+5 with basal extremities at same vertical level of dm-cu; basal extremity of brown apical spot on R4+5 slightly beyond vertical level of spot on R2+3, a triangular hyaline marginal area present between brown spots on R2+3 and R4+5; brown apical spot on M1 longer than 1/2 ultimate sections of M1, a brown spot constricted at middle on dm-cu; subcostal cell hyaline; costa with 2nd (between R1 and R2+3), 3rd (between R2+3 and R4+5) and 4th (between R4+5 and M1) sections in proportion of 3.5 mm: 0.8 mm: 0.6 mm; r-m before middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 1.8 mm: 2.7 mm; ultimate section of CuA1 about 1/13 of penultimate. Halter yellow.

Abdomen yellow, male tergites 2–6 each with a narrow black posterior margin (black posterior margin slightly broad in female) and male tergites 5–6 (female 4–6) each with a black triangular median spot confluent with black posterior margin. Male genitalia ( Figs. 65–69 View FIGURES 65 – 69 ): protandrium circular with sparse dorsal setulae, a ventral bridge, a pair of slender segments and a setula around spiracle; epandrium broad subapically, with three pairs of dorsal setae; surstylus consisting of a narrow claviform straight process with tiny setulae; hypandrium nearly Y–shaped; gonopod columnar, slightly incurved in ventral view; aedeagus with a pair of triangular basal processes and a W–shaped distal incision in ventral view, and aedeagal apical margin sloped in lateral view; aedeagal apodeme nearly as long as aedeagus.

Type material. Holotype 3 ( IZCAS, IOZ 1665997), CHINA, Yunnan Province: Jinghong, Xiaomengyang (850 m), 3. V. 1957, Fuji Pu. Paratypes: CHINA, Yunnan Province: 1 3 ( IZCAS, IOZ 1665981), data same as holotype; 1 Ƥ ( IZCAS, IOZ 1665975), Jinghong, Xiaomengyang (850 m), 3. V. 1957, Lingchao Zang.

Distribution. China (Yunnan).

Remarks. The new species is similar to Homoneura (Neohomoneura) nigrimarginata sp. nov. from China (Yunnan) in the following characters: wing with brown apical spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1 confluent, extending to tip of vein; apical spots on R2+3 and R4+5 with basal extremities at same vertical level of dm-cu; a triangular hyaline marginal area present between brown spots on R2+3 and R4+5; brown apical spot on M1 longer than 1/2 ultimate sections of M1; a brown spot constricted at middle on dm-cu. But it can be separated from the latter by the abdominal tergites 2–6 having the black posterior margin and the male tergites 5–6 (female 4–6) having a black triangular median spot confluent with the black posterior margin; the surstylus having a claviform straight process in the lateral view; the aedeagus having long lateral sclerite, sloped apically in the lateral view. In H. (N.) nigrimarginata , the abdominal tergites 2–5 have narrow black posterior margins, but no median spots; the surstylus has a curved process in the lateral view; the lateral sclerite of aedeagus is shorter than the central membranous part, but wide S– shaped apically in the lateral view.

Etymology. The new species is named after the collector Fuji Pu, in memory of his great contribution to Entomological development.
