PHENOLOGY.— Flowering: August; fruiting: unknown.

DISTRIBUTION.— Mexico (S.L.P., Tamps.).

HABITAT.— Oak-pine forest.

ELEVATION.— 1250–1450 meters.

NOTES.— This is the first documented occurrence of Carlowrightia hapalocarpa ( Fig. 1I View FIGURE ) in Tamaulipas. Daniel (1983a) provided a description of this species, which otherwise occurs in arid and semi-arid regions of central San Luis Potosí.
