Jacaena distincta Thorell 1897: 231 , no figures, ♀. Burma.
Type locality. — Myanmar (Burma), Tenasserim, Mt. Mooleyit .
Type material.— 1 ♀, MCSNG, examined, labelled: “ Cadicus distinctus, Tenasserim, Mt. Mooleyit, typus, Fea Burma 85-89” in the handwriting of Thorell.
Other material studied. — None.
Diagnosis. — The habitus of the female resembles that of Sesieutes . The abdomen lacks a dorsal scutum, the venter has a distinctive pattern of a dark median longitudinal band in the middle and a long white transverse ring halfway the abdomen, interrupted in the middle dorsally ( figs 776-777 View Figs 775 - 785 ). The openings in the epigyne are lateral and are connected with long coiled tubes, ending in fertilisation ducts; there are no distinct spermathecae or bursae.
Description.— FEMALE, holotype, according to Thorell’s description. PER slightly recurved, PME slightly flattened, separated by 1 d, and by 11/2 d from laterals. Carapace surface coarse; thoracic groove obsolete. Tibia I with 7 pairs of ventral spines, tibia II with 6 pairs, tibia III and IV 2-2v, 1pl, 1rl, metatarsus 1 with 5 pair ventrally, metatarsus II with 4 pair.
Freehand drawings were made in the Museum in Genova of the type specimen. One of the epigynal openings was plugged.
Distribution.— SE Myanmar (Burma).
