The abyssinicus View in CoL -group

This group has been defined and revised by Nilsson (1992; 1995a) for a total number of four species, all living in the mountains of tropical eastern Africa ( Fig. 56). A fifth species, from the Arabian Peninsula, is here found to be a member of this group, due to the presence of its main apomorphy and for the male characters. This species can be inserted in Nilsson’s (1992) key as follows: 1. Elytral patterns composed by longitudinal striae. Pronotum reddish-yellow, with more or less developed dark markings, rarely completely black.
