Very widely distributed in southern Asia to Japan, and to Australian regions, Samoa, Fiji, Marquesas, and Hawaii. Recorded in Guam as a beet pest by Fullaway in 1911. We found its caterpillars abundant on spiny amaranth. Apanteles gumnensis var. was reared from some of the larvae. Only a few moths were collected or reared .
