Amritodus flavocapitatus Cai & He, Cai et al., 2001: 199 View in CoL , figs 54–61. syn. nov.
Diagnosis. Crown and face ( Figs 2 View FIGURES 1–6 , 8 View FIGURES 7–12 ) yellowish brown, without black spots. Pronotum, mesoscutum and scutellum ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1–6 ) ocher yellow lacking the black markings.
Pygofer ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 16–25 ) with elongate caudal lobe; inner processes short and curved apically, not reaching caudal margin, apex hook-shaped. Aedeagal shaft ( Figs 19, 20 View FIGURES 16–25 ) with subapex curved dorsally in lateral view, without basal pair of processes; dorsal apodeme poorly developed; gonopore subapical.
Material examined. Holotype ♂, 5 ♀ Paratypes, CHINA, Taiwan Province , Taizhong, 15.vii.1987, coll. C.T. Yang ( NMNS); 1 ♂ , CHINA, Taiwan Province, Taizhong City, Nantou County, Wushe , 1150 m, 6–11.v.1981, coll. K.S. Lin & S.C. Lin ( NMNS); 2 ♂, 3 ♀ , Taiwan Province, Taizhong City, Nantou County, Lushan , 1000 m, 27–31.v.1980, coll. K.S. Lin & L.Y. Chou ( NMNS); 1 ♂, 3 ♀ , Taiwan Province, Taoyuan County, Paling, 800m, 3–5.v.1983, coll. K.C. Chou & C.C. Pan ( NMNS); 2 ♂, 3 ♀, Henan Province , Huixian County, 15.vi.2008, coll. Wei Liu ( IMNU) .
Distribution. China ( Taiwan, Henan).
Remarks. We examined the type material and clearly showed that P. flavocapitatus should be considered a junior synonym of P. pistacious . This species can be distinguished from the other species of Paramritodus by the elongate pygofer with short inner process and hook-shaped apex.
