Diagnosis

This species is similar to N. cinctipedalis (Walker) , but it is easily distinguished from the latter by the presence of termen on forewing. In the male genitalia, the tegumen is narrowed towards apex, the sacculus is not free from the valva, the juxta is tiny without latero-caudal lobes. In the female genitalia, the apophysis anterioris is absent and the antrum is bilobed at apex.

Adult ( Figures 12–13 View Figures 6–13 ). Wingspan 11mm. Head and frons ochreous white. Labial palpus longer than the width of eye, pale yellowish white, partly brown patch on that. Forewing cleft from five-ninths, ground colour yellowish brown, speckled with fuscous scales.

Male genitalia ( Figures 22–23 View Figures 14–23 ). Uncus small, weakly sclerotized. Tegumen narrowed toward apex beyond half; depth of incision shorter than half length of tegumen. Valva elongate, broader basally; sacculus extended to six-sevenths of valva. Juxta small without caudal lobes. Aedeagus slender, two-thirds as long as the valva, with small, hook-like processes apically.

Female genitalia ( Figures 29–30 View Figures 24–30 ). Apophysis posterioris 1.3 times as long as the antrum. Apophysis anterioris absent. Antrum as long as the eighth segment, sclerotized, double fork-like bilobed apex; bearing numerous curled hairs laterally. Corpus bursae ovate with a pair of leaf-like signa medially.
