Type discussion

Papilio fuelleborni rydoni Kielland was described from the 28 male and six female specimens listed above, with original holotype designation. According to Kielland (1987: 118), ‘‘[the] Holotype, allotype and one paratype [are] to be deposited in the British Museum (Nat. Hist.); other paratypes [sic] in J. KIELLAND collection [now in ABRI] and in the collection of A.H.B. RYDON’’. We have examined the holotype, ‘‘allotype’’ and male paratype from Bondwa, which were donated to BMNH (Entomology Department Accession number 1990- 166), and a further paratype from (Uluguru Mts, 1958) recently donated to BMNH by A.H.B. Rydon.
