Notes. Subías (2022) recognized this species as a subspecies of S. (S.) spinosus . However, S. (S.) personatus is distinctly different from S. (S.) spinosus by the presence of fused sigillar fields of prodorsum and distance between rostral setae are larger than between interlamellar setae (versus sigillar fields not fused and ro - ro <in -in in S. (S.) spinosus ). We find no reason to establish the status of the subspecies.
