Grammacephalu s Haupt, 1929: 258. Type species: Platymetopius pugio Noualhier, 1895 .

Caffretus Evans, 1947: 258 . Type species: Caffretus turneri Evans, 1947 .

Coloration and morphology. Forewing with whitish costal area. Crown acutely triangular in dorsal view. Expanded genae visible dorsally behind eyes. Ocelli present near eyes. Face elongated. Pronotum broader than crown. Forewing without extra cross veins, appendix rounded reaching second apical cell.

Male genitalia. Pygofer short and broad, usually with attenuate apical lobe or long ventral process. Anal tube usually extended beyond pygofer posterior margin. Valve semicircular. Subgenital plate triangular. Style apophysis small, digitate, preapical lobe rounded, moderately developed. Connective Y-shaped. Aedeagal shaft gracile, long, gonopore apical or subapical.

Female. 7 th sternite comparatively large.

Remarks. Linnavuori (1978) reviewed the African species of the genus, including 2 new combinations and 3 new species. Viraktamath (1981) proposed 2 new combinations and described 1 new species from the Indian subcontinent. Later, 1 new species was added to the genus by Viraktamath & Anantha Murthy (1999) from India. Subsequently, Dai et al. (2006) described a new species from China. Khatri & Webb (2010) reported 3 known species whereas Naveed & Zhang (2018) documented a total of 5 known species from Pakistan.
