The two specimens Kaas (1991) mentioned as Leptochiton (Leptochiton) belknapi View in CoL from New Caledonia (22°10'S, 167°33'E), 2100–2110 m, were reidentified by Sirenko (2001) under a name originally restricted to the holotype specimen from 720 m depth.
