Type:— NEPAL, Nangli [‘Sikkim’], 10,000 ft., J.D. Hooker 690 (holotype: NY! [barcode 1185189]; isotype: L! [barcode 0835784]). [Details and discussion on the type are provided in Ho et al. (2012: 172); duplicate in BM excluded]
Etymology: Named after the type collector Sir Joseph Dalton Hooker (1817–1911), a British botanist and explorer, who served as the second director of the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew, succeeding his father, William Jackson Hooker.
Distribution: Nepal (type) and China (Yunnan: D.G. Long 33796 (E!) [sample used for analysis in Ho et al. 2012)]. Sikkim is excluded, see label of the type ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ) and discussion in Ho et al. (2012: 172)
