A valid species, Sphex funerarius ( Gussakovskij, 1934) ( Menke & Pulawski 2000, Pulawski 2015).

Type locality. " Kina S. Kansu " [= south Gansu, China].

Discussion. A lectotype of S. funerarius is kept in NRS according to Menke & Pulawski 2000, whereas one male and two females from the type series are preserved in ZISP.
