Synonyms: Ataxdeltoides Piersig, 1894 (original designation); Cochleophorus deltoides Piersig, 1894

Type material: Unknown, possibly lost.

Type locality: Germany ( Pešić et al. 2007; Piersig 1894).

Geographical distribution: Palaearctic ( Gerecke et al. 2016; Pešić et al. 2007).

Distribution in Portugal: South: Estremadura ( Valdecasas 1988), in Sintra-Monserrate Park and Palace; Alentejo, in Ribeira de Odivelas ( Lundblad 1956).

Ecological notes: Lenitobiont freshwater, in standing and temporary waters, including pools, lakes, ponds and ditches ( Pešić et al. 2007); present in plants, such as Batrachium spp. , Myriophyllum spp. , Nymphea spp. ( Lundblad 1956) ; Larval insect hosts: Chironomidae ( Gerecke et al. 2016) .

Synonym: Neumania atlantida Lundblad, 1941

Type material: Unknown, possibly lost.

Type locality: Southeastern France, in Provence ( Walter & Motas 1927) .

Geographical distribution: Western Palaearctic ( Gerecke et al. 2016).

Distribution in Portugal: South: Estremadura ( Valdecasas 1988), in Sintra-Monserrate Park and Palace ( Lundblad 1956); Madeira Island ( Lundblad 1941b).

Ecological notes: Freshwater: springs, in flowing and standing water bodies, with preference for sandy or gravel substrate ( Esen et al. 2011; Gerecke et al. 2016; Pešić et al. 2007).

Neumania (Soarella) papillosa ( Soar, 1902)

Synonym: Ecpolus papillosus Soar, 1902 (original designation)

Type material: Holotype ( Soar 1902), probably not deposited in any scientific collection.

Type locality: Britain ( Soar 1902).

Geographical distribution: Europe ( Gerecke et al. 2016; Pešić et al. 2007).

Distribution in Portugal: Centre: Beira Alta ( Valdecasas 1988), in Santa Comba Dão, and Côa River, near 10 km to Vilar Formoso ( Lundblad 1956).

Ecological notes: Freshwater, common in eutrophic to dystrophic standing waters ( Gerecke et al. 2016), in clear water, on a sandy substrate; present in plants, such as Carex spp. , Juncus spp. , Myriophyllum spp. ( Lundblad 1956) .
