Synonyms: Lebertia (Lebertia) africana Walter, 1926 ; Lebertia (Lebertia) affinis Sokolow, 1927 ; Lebertia (Lebertia) tenuistrata Viets, 1937 ; Lebertia (Lebertia) elongata Besseling, 1957
Type material: Unknown, possibly lost.
Type locality: Norway ( Thor 1899) .
Geographical distribution: Western Palaearctic ( Di Sabatino et al. 2010).
Distribution in Portugal: Centre: Beira Litoral ( Valdecasas 1988), in Fonte Fria, Mealhada, Buçaco mountain ( Lundblad 1956).
Ecological notes: Mainly occurring in streams and oligotrophic lakes, but even on mosses and under stones; parasitic larvae of insect-chironomids ( Di Sabatino et al. 2010). In Portugal, this species was found on a cold cascade staircase, together with platyhelminth Crenobia alpina ( Lundblad 1956) .
