Macrophiothrix sp.
Habitat: Subtidal rock and coral reef. 1–7 m ( Price 1981).
Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman: Al Juraid Island (22), Tarut Bay (25) (ibid.).
Indian Ocean: n/a
Remarks: Price (1981) remarked that his eight specimens were intermediate between M. hirsuta cheneyi and M. elongata with regard to arm length, arm spines and the shape of dorsal and ventral arm plates. He did not discuss them in his more detailed later treatment ( Price 1983) and so their identity remains uncertain.
