Brontostoma discus ( Burmeister, 1835)

The genus Brontostoma Kirkaldy, 1859 includes more than 20 species ( Maldonado 1990; Dougherty 1995; Gil­Santana et al. 2004, 2005). B. discus has previously been recorded from Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Surinam, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay ( Wygodzinsky 1951; Maldonado 1990; Dougherty 1995). Even though this species ( Fig. 1 ) has been recorded from Colombia ( Dougherty 1995), no exact localities were mentioned. New distributional records from this country are given here.
