Orbella lugubris Maldonado, 1987 View in CoL
The genus Orbella was erected by Maldonado (1987) to include three new species. This species is readily distinguished from the other two by its uniformly black coloration (Maldonado 1987). The antennae in the holotype were missing. Therefore, coloration and measurements (in mm) of the antenna and some details of the abdomen are given here for the wellpreserved specimen from Antioquia. The antennae are light brown, the first segment is darkened on its basal and apical portion; the second segment is darkened on its apical portion, weakly on its base. Measurements of antennal segments, I: 5; II: 1.73; III: 4.8; IV: 1.6. The abdominal sternites V to VII, and the genital segments, are yellowish with a few whitish setae, which are more abundant medially than laterally on each segment, particularly on sternite VII. The connexivum is black dorsally on segments II to IV, V is black anteriorly but with a latero posterior yellowish spot. O. lugubris was described from a female from Brazil, without specific locality; the males are unknown. It is recorded from Colombia for the first time ( Fig. 49 View FIGURES 43 – 51 ).
