Heniartes erythromerus Spinola, 1837 View in CoL
Although several specimens were here identified as H. erythromerus following Wygodzinsky (1947a), it is possible that more than one species is involved. External morphology and color pattern agree well with the description of this species. However, the male genitalia of one of the male specimens examined (from ‘Santa Maria’ [UNCB]) are more similar to that of H. lopesi Wygodzinsky, 1947 , than those of H. erythromerus as illustrated by Wygodzinsky (1947a). More specimens are required in order to clarify this situation. H. erythromerus has been recorded from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, and French Guiana ( Wygodzinsky 1959; Maldonado 1990); the specimens listed below represent a new record from Colombia ( Fig. 32 View FIGURES 28 – 37 ).
