30. ORCHESIA MINOR WALKER, 1837 *
Examined material: Recorded only from one locality: Bagrationovsk district, near the railway station “ 1312 km ”, 54°33´10´´N 20°9´30´´E, 02.V.2009 (1 ex., Fagetum forest at the lakeside, sweeping of bushes, leg. V. Alekseev) GoogleMaps .
Comments: New species for the fauna of the Kaliningrad region. This species is widely distributed in the whole Baltic and Fennoscandian region and is mentioned for all territories ( Silfverberg 2004). It has also been recorded in Belarus ( Alexandrovitch et al. 1996). This species is considered to be very rare in Lithuania ( Ferenca et al. 2006) and Latvia ( Telnov et al. 2006). From the territory of the former East Prussia, it has only been recorded from northern Poland ( Bercio & Folwaczny 1979). The larva of this species occurs under flask fungi (Pyrenomycetes) in dead wood of the thin stems and branches of birch and hazel ( Nikitsky et al. 1996).
