Order Rodentia BOWDICH, 1821 View in CoL
The remains of rodents account for more than 60% of the small mammal associations in both sites. Both assemblages are co-dominated by Parapodemus (about 30%) and cricetines, Pseudocricetus in Gaverdovsky (ca. 30%) and Neocricetodon in Volchaya Balka (42%). Noteworthy are the significant proportions of dormice 18% (Gvd) and 13% (Vlb). Other similarities and distinctions are not significant due to small sample size in both assemblages.
