Types. Holotype ♀, CHINA, Yunnan, Gongshan County, Pengdang Village, Jimudeng hamlet, 27.54197°N, 98.39340°E, alt. 1573m, 6 October 2002, Chang-min Yin and Xiang Xu leg. (No. 16). GoogleMaps
Etymology. This epithet derives from the type locality.
Diagnosis. The new species resembles Linyphia yangmingensis Yin et al. 2012 (fig. 236a–d), but can be distinguished by the anterior margin of epigynal plate without teeth in L. pengdangensis sp. nov. ( Fig. 177B View FIGURE 177 ), whereas with teeth in L. yangmingensis ( Yin et al. 2012, fig. 236C, D). Spiral folds with two and half turns in L. pengdangensis sp. nov. ( Fig. 177B, C View FIGURE 177 ), whereas with one and half turns in L. yangmingensis ( Yin et al. 2012, fig. 236d).
Description. Female (holotype, Fig. 177A View FIGURE 177 ): Carapace 1.95 long, 1.33 wide, yellow; fovea, cervical, and radial grooves distinct. Clypeus 0.36 high. Sternum longer than wide, yellow, sparsely covered with microsetae. Labium wider than long. Maxillae long, distal end broad with scopulae. Chelicerae with five promarginal and four retromarginal teeth. AER recurved, PER straight, slightly wider. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.09, ALE 0.12, PME 0.09, PLE 0.11, AME–AME 0.05, PME–PME 0.10, AME–ALE, 0.11, PME–PLE 0.13, AME–PME 0.14, ALE–ALE 0.60, PLE–PLE 0.64, ALE–PLE contiguous. Length of legs: I 13.36 (3.57, 4.02, 3.93, 1.84), II 11.1 (2.92, 3.87, 2.89, 1.42), III 6.01 (2.12, 1.78, 1.42, 0.69), IV 10.85 (2.89, 3.74, 3.11, 1.11). Leg formula I-II-IVIII. Tm I 0.73. Tibial spine formula: 2-2-2-2. Abdomen damaged.
Epigyne ( Fig. 177B, C View FIGURE 177 ): Scape protruding, robust; cavity with a triangular projection on each side; copulatory openings narrow, covered by the lateral walls. Vulva: spiral folds with two and half turns; spermathecae elliptical, extending towards anterior margin of epigynal plate.
Male. Unknown.
Distribution. Known only from the type locality ( Fig. 180 View FIGURE 180 ).
