Derivation of speci W c epithet This species is named for the relatively elongate antennomeres on the holotype.
Diagnosis, adult
This species may be separated from its congeners by the following diagnostic combination: antennomeres relatively elongate, not distinctly transverse; lateral margins of pronotum evenly arcuate.
Description, adult
Characters of Physiomorphus , with the following speci®c features: Body very elongate (TL/GEW 3.75), parallel-sided. Head. Scape relatively elongate, sub®liform; antennomere 2 about half length of scape; antennomeres relatively elongate, 3±4 sub®liform; antennomeres 5±10 triangular, increasing in width to apex of antenna; antennomere 11 somewhat narrowed distally, without cleft; distal maxillary palpomere slightly expanded, securiform; eyes moderately large, widely separated. Pronotum relatively narrow ( GPW /PL 1.35), only slightly wider than head ( GPW / GHW 1.07); lateral margins of disc slightly arcuate, widest near midlength, slightly narrower at anterior margin than posterior; discal depressions relatively deep, distinctly de®ned; punctation shallow, non-umbilicate; setation uniform, sparse. Elytra moderately convex, without suggestions of costae; epipleuron traceable to ventrite 4, relatively evenly narrowed posteriorly; vestiture relatively sparse, not obscuring regular, coarse punctation; apical binding patch only slightly visible dorsally. Abdomen. Sexual setae golden-red, at least half length of V2, directed posteriorly at about 30ss angle; male genitalia with paramere with very deep sinuation, beginning in distal third. Colour. Head piceous on vertex and occiput, frons and mouthparts rufous; antennae piceous; prothorax entirely testaceous; elytra piceous, slightly lighter in colour than base of head; legs testaceous, with tarsi and distal half of tibiae slightly infuscated; meso- and metasternum and abdominal ventrites rufopiceous.
