Generic diagnosis (adult female). The genus Pulvinaria View in CoL is here treated as sensu lato following Hodgson (1994), with the following diagnostic characters: a white ovisac secreted from under the female’s body; several types of ventral tubular ducts present in a submarginal band and/or in the medial area of the body; a few dorsal tubular ducts present or absent; and each leg with a tibio-tarsal articulatory sclerosis and free articulation.
