Remarks. A very detailed description of this species was published by Tuzovskij (2012). The new data demonstrate a wide distribution and very high frequency of this species in low order streams and shaded spring habitats in the Mediterranean. Not rarely, L. bipapillata is found also in the hyporheic interstitial. However, population density is obviously low in most cases.
