Distribution:—This species is widely recorded in Malesia ( Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, and Philippines) and the Pacific Islands ( Solomon Islands and Vanuatu).
Ecology:—In Vietnam, this species has been found in ridge-top cloudy evergreen broad-leaved forests. There it grows as an epiphyte on moss-covered upper trunks along with epiphytic orchids (e.g., Bulbophyllum , Coelogyne , and Campanulorchis spp. ) and ferns (e.g., Pyrrosia and Selliguea spp. ).
Note:— Chrysogrammitis Parris is a small genus with two species distributed from south Asia ( Sri Lanka), east Asia (Taiwan), Malesia, to the Pacific Islands ( Parris 1998, 2018). Our new collection of C. musgraviana from Vietnam extends the distribution of the genus to Indochina. Morphologically, C. musgraviana can be distinguished from all other grammitid ferns known from Vietnam ( Parris et al. 2015) by having glandular hairs scattered throughout the plant.
