Selenophorus semirufus Bates 1882: 61 View in CoL . Type locality: Mexico (Guanajuato) . Types: NHMUK.
Descriptive Notes. Forebody reddish-brown to piceous. Labrum often orange, even when forebody dark. Pronotum with fine, well impressed microsculpture on lateral sides and hind angle areas. Elytra not iridescent, microsculpture irregularly isodiametric to moderately transverse, strongly impressed, intervals moderately convex, with at most sparse micropunctules. Femora yellowish in most specimens; reddish-brown in a few. Male abdominal apex at most weakly emarginate. Median lobe apex and endophallus like S. gagatinus View in CoL . ABL 6.8–7.8 mm.
Range. USA: AZ*, sCA*, CO*, NM*, TX*; Mexico. New country record for USA.
