Type material ( CHINA: Yunnan, Xishuangbanna, Mengla County, Menglun Town, Menglun Nature Reserve, leg. G. Zheng, canopy fogging): Holotype: Ƥ, Secondary tropical seasonal moist forest (N21º54.390', E101º16.811', 612 m), 10 August 2007 (IZCAS-Ar. 19050). Paratypes: 1 Ƥ, same data as holotype (IZCAS-Ar. 19051); 1 Ƥ, Secondary tropical seasonal moist forest (N21º54.607', E101º17.005', 633 m), 28 July 2007 (IZCAS- Ar. 19052); 3 Ƥ, Paramichelia baillonii plantation (N21º54.772', E101º16.043', 556 m), 18 July 2007 (IZCAS-Ar. 19053–19055); 1 Ƥ, Secondary tropical seasonal moist forest (N21º54.718', E101º16.940', 654 m), 10 August 2007 (IZCAS-Ar. 19056).
Etymology. The specific name is a noun from the Latin word pentagonum (pentagon), refers to the pentagonshaped atrium of the epigynum .
Diagnosis. This species can be separated from other congeneric species by the pentagon-shaped atrium of the epigynum .
Description. Female (holotype): Total length 4.40. Prosoma 2.00 long, 1.70 wide; opisthosoma 2.40 long, 1.90 wide. Carapace grayish green with sparse grayish white scales. Ocular area grayish black with grayish white scales. Eye measurements: AME 0.08, ALE 0.18, PME 0.15, PLE 0.15, AME-AME 0.10; AME-ALE 0.06; PME- PME 0.25; PME-PLE 0.25. Eye row width measurement: I 0.23, II 0.50, III 0.96, IV 0.51. Clypeus height 0.32. Sternum light yellow; chelicera, labium and endites grayish brown, chelicera with 2 pro and 1 retromarginal teeth. Legs grayish green. Leg measurements: I 8.30 (2.60, 3.00, 1.90, 0.80); II 7.35 (2.40, 2.60, 1.60, 0.75); III 5.15 (1.60, 1.75, 1.20, 0.60); IV 5.20 (1.70, 1.60, 1.25, 0.65), leg formula: 1243. Opisthosoma dorsally grayish white with broken grayish white spots and grayish brown markings; ventrally gray.
Epigynum ( Figs 15 View FIGURE 15 B–C, 16A–B). Atrium pentagon-shaped; copulatory ducts short, spermatheca large.
Male: Unknown.
Distribution. China (Yunnan).
Variation. Total length: Ƥ 4.20–5.00 (n=7).
