HOLOTYPE: AMNH 693004 About AMNH , adult male, collected on Vella Lavella Island , 07.45S, 156.35E (Times Atlas), Solomon Islands, on 28 February 1908, by Albert S. Meek (no. 3884). From the Rothschild Collection. GoogleMaps

COMMENTS: In the original description, Hartert cited Meek’s field number of the holotype without mentioning the size of his type series. Later, Rothschild and Hartert (1908a: 358) listed four male and two female

specimens of this form, including the holotype. The five paratypes, all collected on Vella Lavella in February and March 1908, are: males, AMNH 693002 About AMNH (Meek no. 3890), AMNH 693003 About AMNH (3761), AMNH 693005 About AMNH (3795) ; females, AMNH 693006 About AMNH (3885), AMNH 693007 About AMNH (3925) .
