COMMENTS: Rothschild and Hartert designated as type the single specimen collected by Doherty at Doreh Bay, and they listed 15

additional specimens in their type series. There are actually 17 specimens that would have been in the Rothschild Collection when the name was published, AMNH 695784 About AMNH and 695809 being the additional specimens. Paratypes are: Waigeo Island (5 Waigeu), male and female, AMNH 695784 About AMNH , 695785 About AMNH ; Batanta Island , male and female, AMNH 695786 About AMNH , 695787 About AMNH ; Arfak , sex?, AMNH 695789 About AMNH ; Ansus , Yapen Island (5 Jobi), male, AMNH 695790 About AMNH ; Keboi Island , near Yapen, male, AMNH 695791 About AMNH ; Takar , sex?, AMNH 695792 About AMNH ; Goodenough Island , females, AMNH 695804 About AMNH , 695805 About AMNH ; Fergusson Island , four males, three females, AMNH 695806–695812 About AMNH . Rothschild and Hartert also included specimens in the HNHM from Erima (southern Astrolabe Bay) in their type series ; however, this collection was entirely destroyed by fire in 1956 ( Horváth, 1970: 363).
