COMMENTS: Salomonsen gave the AMNH number of the holotype in the original description and said that the range was Yapen (5 Japen) Island, coastal northern New Guinea from Geelvink Bay to Huon Gulf , and Fergusson Island . Archbold, A.L. Rand, and W.B. Higgins et al. (2008: 601) tentatively synonymized vulgaris with sonoroides.
