Dolichogenidea ovata Liu & Chen , sp. nov.

( Figs 48 View FIGURE 48 , 68 View FIGURE 68. 36–60 )

Description. Holotype. Female. Body length 2.1 mm, fore wing length 2.6 mm.

Head. Transverse in dorsal view, 2.0× as wide as long, 0.8× as wide as mesoscutum ( Fig. 48a View FIGURE 48 ). Temple a little shiny with coarse, strong punctures, weakly constricted behind eyes from dorsal view. Face ( Fig. 48d View FIGURE 48 ) transverse, 0.8× as high as wide, dull with dense, strong punctuation, inner margins of eyes subparallel. Posterior tangent to anterior ocellus virtually touching posterior pair of ocelli, distance between fore and a hind ocellus slightly shorter diameter of an hind ocellus, POL:OD:OOL = 4.0:2.0:3.5. Last seven antennomeres missing.

Mesosoma. Length:width:height = 40.0:27.5:25.5. Disc of mesonotum ( Fig. 48h View FIGURE 48 ) a little shiny, strongly, coarsely punctate. Scutellar sulcus nearly straight, relatively broad with carinae inbetween. Scutellum highly shiny, almost polished entirely, except several punctures scattered along sides. Propodeum ( Fig. 48e View FIGURE 48 ) shiny, with well-defined areolation which oval at bottom and open at anterior end, lateral carinae of areola bifurcated medially, costulae welldefined, three posterior fields shiny and slightly uneven with some rugae, anterio-lateral parts shiny but uneven with shallow punctures. Mesopleuron highly polished but strongly and densely punctate on most anterior parts.

Legs. Hind femur stout, 2.9× longer than wide. Hind coxa shiny, shallowly punctate. Spines on outer side of hind tibia short and relatively dense. Inner spur of hind tibia nearly half length of hind basitarsus, outer spur 2/5 length of hind basitarsus. Basitarsus of hind leg distinctly shorter than tarsomeres 2–4 (12.0:14.0).

Wings. Pterostigma large, 2.5× as long as its widest part ( Fig. 48b View FIGURE 48 ). Vein 1-R1 1.3× longer than pterostigma, 4.2× as long as its distance from apex of marginal cell. Vein r arising weakly from apex of pterostigma, perpendicular to pterostigma, weakly shorter than width of pterostigma, r weakly longer than 2-SR, distinctly angled at meeting, 2-M 2/5 length of 2-SR and as long as 1-SR and weakly shorter than 2-SR+M, m-cu almost as long 2-SR. First discal cell of fore wing weakly wider than high (17.5:16.0). Second discal cell of hind wing 1.8× wider than high. Vein cu-a weakly curved inward ( Fig. 48g View FIGURE 48 ).

Metasoma. Nearly 0.9× as long as mesosoma (34.0:40.0). T1 ( Fig. 48f View FIGURE 48 ) distinctly widened towards apex, length as long as hind width, basal 1/5 indistinctly concave, rugose, turned-over part transverse, strongly rugose. T2 strongly rugose as T1, rather transverse, nearly 5.0× wider than long in middle, weakly curved apically. T3 1.4× as long as T2. Tergites posterior to T2 polished, shiny, and pubescent. Hypopygium distinctly not longer than apex of metasoma. Ovipositor sheath 0.9× as long as hind femur, ovipositor thin, slightly curved, without apical attenuation.

Colour. Black ( Fig. 48c View FIGURE 48 ). Tegula dark brown. Palpi and spurs whitish yellow. Flagellum yellowish brown, scape yellow. Ovipositor sheath brown. Labrum dark reddish brown, mandible bright reddish yellow. Legs bright reddish yellow, coxae dark brown to black. Wing membrane hyaline, vein 1-R1 and C+SC+R yellow, pterostigma, r, 2-SR and 2-M brown, other alar veins almost colourless, pterostigma with whitish basal spot.

Male. Unknown.

Host. Unknown.

Material examined ( ZJUH). Holotype: ♀, Mt. Meihua , Fujian, 1988.VII.21, Fan Jinjiang, No. 886046.

Distribution. Oriental [ China: Fujian].

Etymology. The specific name “ ovata ” derived from the Latin “ovatus”, referring to areolation on propodeum is oval at bottom.

Remarks. This species is similar to D. asotae (Watanabe) , but differs in the following: ovipositor sheath nearly as long as hind femur (the latter shorter than or equal to hind basitarsus); length of T1 as long as hind width (the latter 1.5× longer); and scutellum almost polished entirely (the latter punctate).
