Description. Male. Body ( Fig. 26 View FIGURE 26 D) oval, strongly convex dorsally, shiny, closely covered with silver setae. Coloration of body brown; antennae, mouthparts and legs pale brown.

Head relatively large, flat dorsally, finely punctate, front margin of clypeus shallowly concave. Eyes large, prominent; the distance between eyes about 2.0 times as long as the maximum diameter of an eye. Antennae slender and long, reaching about proximal 1/2 of elytra. Pronotum densely punctate, strongly depressed in lateral parts; antero- and postero-lateral corners right-angled; anterior margin almost straight; lateral and posterior margins gently arcuate; PW/PL 2.00–2.29 (2.19). Scutellar shield finely punctate, equilaterally triangular. Elytra oval, widest at the middle, punctate as in pronotum; humeral parts slightly projecting; apices right-angled; EL/EW 1.23–1.29 (1.26); EL/PL 3.80–4.39 (4.14); EW/PW 1.49–1.50 (1.50); TL/EW 1.53–1.60 (1.57). Legs relatively long and slender.

Caudal margin of sternite VII ( Fig. 33 View FIGURE 33 A) gently arcuate. Tergite VIII ( Fig. 33 View FIGURE 33 B) moderately sclerotized, semicircular, bearing short spines and setae along caudal margin, with a pair of short slender apodemes. Sternite IX ( Fig. 33 View FIGURE 33 C) very long, moderately sclerotized, elongate U-shaped, twisted in caudal parts. Tegmen ( Fig. 33 View FIGURE 33 D) moderately sclerotized, Y-shaped; parameres slender, bearing short setae in lateral margins, pointed at apices. Penis ( Fig. 33 View FIGURE 33 E) moderately sclerotized, about 1.2 times as long as tegmen; pala long, subparallel-sided; parameroids long, bilobed, slender; trigonium long, protruding from basal 2/5 to 4/5, curved ventrally in apical part.

Female. Unknown.

Measurements. Male (n = 3): TL 1.78–1.92 (1.84) mm; PW 0.75–0.80 (0.78) mm; PL 0.33–0.40 (0.36) mm; EL 1.45–1.52 (1.48) mm; EW 1.12–1.20 (1.17) mm.

Distribution. Indonesia (Sulawesi Isl.).

Remarks. This species is similar to Ypsiloncyphon Micans (Klausnitzer) in having a similarly shaped penis, but differs from the latter in the following characteristics: 1) sternite IX very long and twisted (long and almost straight in Micans ), and 2) tegmen bearing short setae (lacking setae in Micans ).

Etymology. The species name refers to the shape of the sternite IX.
