Type material. Holotype ( NMW): male, “ INDONESIA: W Java Gede-Pangrango Nat. P. way to Cibeureum Wf 1500-1620m lg. Schuh 23.8.1994 ”, genit. s. no HY 976. Paratypes ( NMW): 1 male & 1 female, same data as for the holotype, female genit. s. no. HY 963.

Description. Male. Body ( Fig. 26 View FIGURE 26 E) oblong, convex dorsally, shiny, closely covered with brown long setae. Coloration of body blackish brown, but mouthparts and legs paler.

Head rather small, slightly convex dorsally, finely punctate; clypeus rather long, shallowly concave in front margin. Eyes moderate in size, strongly prominent; the distance between eyes about 1.9 times as long as the maximum diameter of an eye. Antennae long and slender, reaching about proximal 1/4 of elytra. Pronotum rather small, densely punctate, depressed in lateral parts; anterior and lateral margins straight; antero-lateral corners right angled; postero-lateral corners obtuse; posterior margin bisinuous; PW/PL 1.62–1.74 (1.68). Scutellar shield punctate as on head, equilaterally triangular. Elytra oblong, subparallel-sided near base to apical 1/4, densely punctate; humeral parts weakly projecting dorsally; apices right-angled; EL/EW 1.84–1.87 (1.86); EL/PL 4.60–5.82 (5.21); EW/PW 1.44–1.92 (1.68); TL/EW 2.19–2.24 (2.22). Legs long.

Caudal margin of sternite VII ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 A) arcuate. Tergite VIII ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 B) moderately sclerotized, semicircular, bearing long setae in apical part, with a pair of long and slender apodemes. Tergite IX ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 C) well sclerotized, long, consisting of a pair of rod-like hemitergites, gently curved interiorly in proximal 1/3, with oval subterminal swelling from which projects a slender, finger-shaped terminal section. Tegmen ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 D) relatively short, enlarged in basal part, well sclerotized in mesal part; parameres short, membranous, bifid in apical 1/5, covered with short spines in apical parts. Penis ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 E) long, well sclerotized, about 1.7 times as long as tegmen; pala long, tapered posteriorly, gently arcuate anteriorly; parameroids long, consisting of a plate, subparallel-sided from near base to apex, sparsely punctate; trigonium short, protruding from basal 1/3 to 1/2, widened in the middle, then abruptly tapered apically, closely covered with small serrations in apical part, bearing short setae on ventral surface.

Female. Sexual dimorphism distinct ( Fig. 26 View FIGURE 26 F): coloration of elytra brown; PW/PL 2.00; EL/EW 1.89; EL/PL 5.30; EW/PW 1.40; TL/EW 2.25. Caudal margin of sternite VII ( Fig. 29 View FIGURE 29 A) arcuate. Tergite VIII ( Fig. 29 View FIGURE 29 B) well sclerotized, oval, excised and bearing short spines in apical margin; with a pair of long and slender apodemes. Sternite VIII ( Fig. 29 View FIGURE 29 C) lightly sclerotized, oblong, excised and bearing short spines in apical margin, punctate in apical part. Ovipositor ( Fig. 29 View FIGURE 29 D) long, with a branch in apical 1/5 of baculus; approximate ratio of stylus, coxite and baculus (n = 1) as 1.0: 5.2: 30.0; prehensor absent.

Measurements. Male (n = 2): TL 2.80 & 3.07 mm; PW 0.73 & 0.87 mm; PL 0.45 & 0.50 mm; EW 1.25 & 1.40 mm; EL 2.30 & 2.62 mm. Female (n = 1): TL 3.15 mm; PW 1.00 mm; PL 0.50 mm; EW 1.40 mm; EL 2.65 mm.

Distribution. Indonesia (Java Isl.).

Remarks. This species is similar to Ypsiloncyphon teruhisai sp. n. in having large and oblong body and an elongate penis, but differs from it by the following characteristics: 1) tergite VIII semicircular and bears long setae in apical part (trapezoidal and bears short setae in teruhisai ), 2) tegmen long and bears spines in apical part (short and lacks spines in teruhisai ), and 3) trigonium of penis short and serrate only in apical part (longer and serrate in apical 1/ 3 in teruhisai ).

Etymology. The species is named after the type locality.
