Type material. Holotype ( NMW): male, “NE-INDIA: Meghalaya W Garo Hills Nokrek NP; ca. 1100 m ”, “ 25º29.6’N 90º19.5’E 9.- 17.5. 1996 leg. Jendek & Sausa”, genit. s. no. HY 918. Paratype ( NMW): 1 male, same data as for the holotype, genit. s. no. HY 909.

Description. Male. Body ( Fig. 13 View FIGURE 13 I) oval, slightly convex dorsally, shiny, closely covered with yellowish-white setae. Coloration of body dark brown, but anterior half of head, mouthparts, antennae and legs yellowish-brown.

Head moderate in size, flattened dorsally, finely punctate, with straight front margin of clypeus. Eyes large, prominent; the distance between eyes about 2.0 times as long as the maximum diameter of an eye. Pronotum finely punctate, depressed in lateral parts; anterior margin straight; lateral and posterior margins gently arcuate; antero- and postero-lateral corners obtuse; PW/PL 2.28. Scutellar shield moderate in size, equilaterally triangular. Elytra oval, widest at the middle, densely punctate; humeral parts slightly projecting dorsally; apices right-angled; EL/ EW 1.30; EL/PL 4.38; EW/PW 1.48; TL/EW 1.59.

Caudal margin of sternite VII ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 A) almost straight. Tergite VIII ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 B) moderately sclerotized, bearing long setae along apical margin, sparsely covered with short setae in apical part, with a pair of long and slender apodemes; tergite IX ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 C) moderately sclerotized, narrowly projecting and upturned in mesal part, with a pair of relatively short apodemes; sternite IX ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 D, broken in basal part) moderately sclerotized, long, U-shaped, pointed apices. Tegmen ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 E) long, lightly sclerotized, Y-shaped, bifid in apical 5/6 (parameres); apical part of parameres expanded in apical 1/4, covered with short spines. Penis ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 F) moderately sclerotized, about 0.6 times as long as tegmen; pala long, subparallel-sided, almost straight in basal margin; parameroids oblong, obtuse at apex, closely covered with fine punctures; trigonium relatively long, elongate rectangular, sparsely covered with punctures and short setae, with minute serrations in truncate apical margin.

Female. Unknown.

Measurements. Male (n = 1): TL 1.72 mm; PW 0.73 mm; PL 0.32 mm; EW 1.08 mm; EL 1.40 mm. Distribution. India.

Remarks. This species is similar to Ypsiloncyphon voluptificus (Klausnitzer) and Y. nigroflavus (Ruta) in the shapes of tergite IX and sternite IX, but is easily distinguishable from them by the shapes of the tegmen and penis. Etymology. The species is named after the type locality.
