Diagnosis. Phoberus nigrociliatus can be easily separated from other members in the group on the basis of the pronotum. It has the pronotum smoothly rounded, whereas the other members have the pronotum ridged with large tubercles. P. nigrociliatus has only been recorded from the Ethiopian highlands.
