This family contains 71 species belonging to 15 genera. Only two species, Dithella javanica (Tullgren, 1912) and Tridenchthonius mexicanus Chamberlin J.C. and Chamberlin V., 1945 , were found on Passalidae ( Beier 1948; Aguiar and Bührnheim 1992, 1998, 2011). Tridenchthonius mexicanus was found on as many as 26 species of Passalidae ( Tables 2 View Table 2 , 4, 14). This is the largest number of hosts found in passalid-associated arthropods.
