Chernetidae View in CoL is a large family with about 580 species belonging to 101 genera. Only 13 species belonging to 7 genera were found on Passalidae View in CoL , and these species were collected from 31 species of Passalidae View in CoL . In addition, Lustrochernes sp. were collected from four species of Passalidae View in CoL . In total, the Chernetidae View in CoL were collected from 33 species of Passalidae View in CoL ( Aguiar and Bührnheim 1992, 1998; Poinar et al. 1998, 2011; Castillo and Villegas-Guzmán 2016). Most species were collected from Passalus punctiger View in CoL (5), P. interruptus (Linnaeus, 1758) View in CoL (4), P. rhodantropoides (Kuwert, 1891) (4), and Verres furcilabris (Eschscholtz, 1828) View in CoL (4) and the largest number of hosts found was for Lustrochernes aff. reimoseri View in CoL (22), L. intermedius (Balzan, 1892) View in CoL (12), and Americhernes aff. incertus View in CoL (12). Six species were collected from only one host each. On four species of Passalidae View in CoL only Chernetidae View in CoL were found: L. intermedius View in CoL , L. aff. reimoseri View in CoL on Popilius marginatus (Percheron, 1835) View in CoL ; L. intermedius View in CoL on Passalus robustus (Percheron, 1835) View in CoL ; Americhernes aff. incertus View in CoL on Veturius paraensis Luederwaldt, 1927 View in CoL ; L. aff. reimoseri View in CoL on Veturius aff. platyrhinus View in CoL ( Tables 2 View Table 2 , 4, 5 View Table 5 , 14).
